Precious Moments was created by Sam Butcher more than 25 years ago. He originally drew teardrop-eyed children on greeting cards to encourage and comfort family and friends. He called them Precious Moments because they reflected life's Precious Moment of love, caring and sharing. The artwork eventually made their way to Enesco. Today, Precious Moment Figurine is more than a collectors item, Precious Moment Figurine is an expression of faith and love. With a few unexpected surprises, gift items from the Precious Moment Figurine continue to inspire people around the world.

2005 Production Mark-Each year, artist Sam Butcher chooses an inspirational symbol to grace the bottom of all Precious Moment porcelain figurine collectibles to be produced during that year. For 2005, Sam has chosen a loaf of bread. He was inspired by John 6:35-Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; he who comes to me shall not hunger, and he who believes in me shall never thirst."
